SOUTHPORT MARCH ON TO NATIONAL FINAL

Southport Swimming Club junior team 9-12yrs swam their way through to the North of England Junior League Final in September by winning the North West Micro League Final.

On Sunday 7th October the team took on some of the top City teams in the North at Blackpool. Including last years National champions the City of Leeds.

The first 8 events being team races, the young Southport swimmers swam their hearts and were in second place after 12 events. The next 32 indivdual races Southport remained strong, increasing the lead over Tynemouth and Leicester. At the conclusion of the 49 event gala Southport Juniors came out in a strong 2nd position behind the City of Leeds taking them through to the National Final against the top 4 teams from the South of England, too take place in Corby on Sunday 25th November. Showing how strong the club has developed they have made the National Final 11 times in the last 12 years winning the title as National Champions on two occasions.
