SOUTHPORT FINISH 4TH TOP OVERALL CLUB AT 2015 NORTH WEST (SUMMER) SWIMMING CHAMPIONSHIPS
All the swimmers that competed at the NW Championships over the last three tiring, weekends have done themselves and the club proud. Competing At the Liverpool Aquatic Centre and The Commonwealth Pool Manchester in the second biggest competition in the age group/youth swimming calender in the country. The club finished in forth spot, only behind Stockport Metro, City of Liverpool and City of Salford. All of which pull swimmers from many smaller clubs. Behind Southport were some other big City and Metropolitan professional outfits made up of swimmers from smaller clubs. The vast majority of the clubs 37 swimmers ages 11 – 18 years at the Championships did Pb’s, made finals and won numerous medals. Coming forth top club in the championships with swimmers/clubs ranging from the Scottish boarder down the Pennines to the North Midlands is an outstanding achievement. Fifteen of the swimmers have now qualified for the National Championships in July and August.
