ABBY GETS INTERNATIONAL CALL UP
LIVERPOOL ECHO JUNIOR SPORT TUESDAY 26TH MAY 2015
SOUTHPORT JUNIORS RETAIN ECHO CUP FOR 11th YEAR IN SUCCESSION
On Saturday 25th October the clubs Junior Team (9 – 12years) retained the Echo Cup for the 11th year in succession. All the top club Junior teams in Merseyside, West Lancashire and West Cheshire took part in this exciting 49 event gala. From the first race to the last Southport dominated the final. Through out the gala, the girls team only dropped 10 points out of a total of 192, winning 20 of their 24 races. in any ones account this was an outstanding achievement. Well done to all the swimmers.
Final Result:- Southport 333, Everton 276, Hoylake 269, Halton 212, Crosby 183, Liverpool Penguin 167, Garston 155 and Ormskirk 152.

EUROPEAN YOUTH OLYMPIC FESTIVAL
AT THE EUROPEAN YOUTH OLYMPIC FESTIVAL UTRECHT HOLLAND SOUTHPORTS HOLLY HIBBOTT, SWIMMING FOR TEAM GB WON TWO SILVER MEDALS IN THE 200M AND 800M FREESTYLE (2.04.01 AND 8.50.16 RESPECTFULLY) AND A BRONZE MEDAL IN THE 200M BACKSTROKE (2.16.34). FROM ALL AT THE CLUB WELL DONE TO HOLLY]

JOSH CHAPMAN SELECTED FOR THE ENGLISH TRIATHLON ACADEMY
Josh who trains with the Southport Swimming Club, A Squad has had a fantastic 2013 and due Josh’s results in the Junior Northwest Triathlon Series in 2013, he has been selected to train in the Triathlon England Academy. He has also recently competed in a number of Aquathlon (Swim and Run) and won the U20’s group which means Josh has qualified for the World Aquathlon Championships (16-19 Age Group) which will be held in September 2013 at the Olympic Course in Hyde Park, London. The final qualifier at Crosby he swam open water 750m in 8min 17 secs, in which he came out third against 200 other competitors, which set him up for the win. Great achievement Josh and well done
