Southport Swimming Club gained 3rd overall top club spot at the championships ahead of the majority of the big city clubs, congratulations to all the swimmers who qualified and competed for the club.

North West Age Group Championships 2013
Congratulations to all the swimmers in particular to Holly Hibbott winning ten gold medals, Emma Whittingham, Rebecca Cuff for obtaining first National qualifing time 2013 and also Parlo Moniz, Tom Birtles for obtaining further National qualifing times.

In the North West Regional Premier B Final at Blackpool on Saturday 14th December 2013 Southport came out easy winners.

NATIONAL AGE GROUP AND YOUTH CHAMPIONSHIPS 2013
Over the 11 days of competition at the top British event, The National Age Groups and Youth Championships, held at the Ponds Forge complex in Sheffield the Southport Swimming Club swimmers did the club proud.
Holly Hibbott was the outstanding swimmer of the Age Group Championships coming away with 6 gold medals and 2 silver medals, breaking the British 13 and under 200 Individual Medley record. She is now the fastest ever british swimmer in this event in the 13 under category. The boys not to be out done with Alex Fry braking into the top 5 in the UK, in the 15yr old 1500m with a massive 25 second Pb. Josh Moniz in the 15/16 age group made the final of the 200 backstroke in a time of 2.07.89 making him also in the top 5 15yr olds in the country. He also did a pb in the 100 back 1.01.01 and 400m IM. Josh was also close to his Pb in all his other events. Following in his footsteps Josh’s younger brother Palo did pb’s in his three events of 200 and 100 fly and 400 IM. Adam Mccarter hit a new Pb in the 13yr 200m backstroke. Niamh Wilgar swimming in the 4 x 100m freestyle relay, swam 1.5 second pb in 1.03.43. Emma Whittingham although didnt quite do a pb in the 100m fly individual she got a new life time best in 4 x 100m medlay relay. Also Greta Hampson swam well in the 12yr 200m fly getting a further pb. Well done to all the swimmers who qualified and took part against the top swimmers in the country.
